With 16 Collaboratives to choose from, these groups can help you meet your state's priorities and support the needs of all students.

The Collaboratives meet consistently throughout the program year, at in-person conferences across the country and through virtual webinars and conferences. Beyond scheduled events, the Collaboratives provide turnkey access to subject matter experts at a moment’s notice.

Session Presentation topic

Many states have highlighted current or upcoming standard-setting activities. While establishing new cut scores is a critical part of standards-based assessment, it can also disrupt trend lines and create downstream challenges. At the same time, linking new or revised tests to existing standards carries its own set of tradeoffs. In this session, we plan to work through real-world vignettes drawn from state experiences to explore when it makes sense to set new standards versus when linking may be the better option.

Join us to share your expertise and perspectives on these issues from the provider perspective. The session will include a mix of technical experts, TAC members, and state leaders to ensure a robust discussion.

Session details:

  • Date: Thursday, October 31, 2025

  • Location: San Diego, CA (TILSA Meeting venue)

  • Format: 90-minute panel with case vignettes and discussion
